Dear Satori Staff and Families:

Thank you to Paul Gellai and Justine Griego for donating books to the Satori library in honor of their birthdays.

Our second Family Forum is on Wednesday evening, November 19 in the multipurpose room at the Elementary Building. Mary Vuke will be addressing the theory of Multiple Intelligences and how we apply it to our everyday teaching. It’s lots of fun and very informative! The Forum is from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and we will offer childcare.

Please mark your calendar to join us for our Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 26 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Every child is asked to bring in a small baggie of cut-up vegetables, herbs, lentils, etc. to add to the soup caldron. We serve a vegetarian-based soup so please do not bring in chicken or beef bouillon. All classes will prepare a dish to accompany our traditional stone soup. Please check with individual teachers or your child to find out what his/her class is preparing for the Feast. Teachers appreciate parent help on their “cooking day.” Volunteers are needed at both buildings to help with set up and clean up on Wednesday. All classes are dismissed at 12:45 p.m. after the Feast. Daycare is available until 5:30 p.m. Satori is closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28.

December 5 is an early dismissal for the elementary grades. All classes dismiss at 12:45 p.m. for staff development. Extended care is available until 5:30 p.m.

Please turn in addresses for grandparents and special friends that we may invite for Grandparents’/Family Friends’ Day on December 18.

We are removing the asphalt from the back playground at the Central Building on Saturday, November 15 to prepare the ground so we can pour concrete. We are in need of volunteers to help. Jesse will be here at 7:30 a.m. and would love assistance! The parking lot at the Central Building will be closed on Friday, November 14 for a large dumpster to be delivered for use on Saturday. There is parking available in the lot to the north (behind the house).

Our supply of extra clothing (at the Central building) is depleted. If your child wore clothing home that we provided, please wash and return those items.

The last Scholastic Book Order for 2003 is due next Wednesday (November 19).

Whenever a class has an upcoming field trip, there will be a bright yellow sign on the classroom door reminding families to sign the permission form that is in a binder next to the computers in the multipurpose room. This is in the Central Building only.
