Free Meals for All Students

Satori is pleased to announce that through the Community Eligibility Provisions (CEP) of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program, Satori will be able to provide breakfast and lunch to their students at no charge effective March 1st.

This CEP update is retroactive as of March 1, 2024.

All students enrolled at Satori may receive one breakfast meal and one lunch meal at no charge every school day. Free and Reduced meal applications are not required.

*The district may continue asking families to complete an alternative household income form from households with a student participating in the CEP; however, receipt of free breakfast and lunch meals will not depend on returning it.

Completing the application is still necessary for other programs essential to our school programming such as E-Rate, which helps with funding for Internet and Communications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this mean for you and your children?

All enrolled students at Satori are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the school year.

You must indicate on the monthly meal order form for any days you would like meals for your child. This ensures we are prepared to provide a meal for all children.

Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application

What does this mean for my child’s existing meal account debt?

As of 5/13/2024 all meal account payment options have been disabled.

As this CEP program has been retroactively approved, eligible meals purchased between March1, 2024 and May 13, 2024, will be reprocessed as free. Updated account balances and payment options will be communicated when this is complete.

Please Note: Although this update ensures that Satori families will not accrue school meal debt moving forward, parents/guardians who accrued school meal debt prior to March 1, 2024, will still be responsible for payment. Families who have a school meal debt balance will still receive emails and letters in the mail alerting them of a balance due.

What happens to the money in my child’s meal account?

Students can use the funds in their meal accounts to purchase a second meal or A La Carte items.

For current students, meal accounts can be accessed in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
